The Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) has said it wants to create awareness around stroke events leading up to World Stroke Day on 29 October, and will do so by challenging people to have #NoMercyOnStroke.

The challenge to have #NoMercyOnStroke will involve a heart-healthy activity to get the blood flowing. As per a SVIN press release, each person is required to create a 40-second video doing as many push-ups as they can safely do—and then nominate their friends and peers to do the same.

Donations to the society for ongoing stroke awareness will also be accepted and encouraged throughout the course of the campaign, the release details.

SVIN kicked off the #NoMercyOnStroke #StrokePushupchallenge on 13 October, and has said further updates will be available on the society’s Twitter account (@svinsociety) and other social media channels.
