The Interventional Spine division of Stryker has expanded its contracted product offering with Novation, the healthcare industry’s leading supply contracting company, by adding the new iVAS (inflatable vertebral augmentation system) product line to its US agreement.

Novation provides savings to the more than 30,000 members and affiliates of VHA, UHC, and Provista. This agreement positions Stryker as the single source provider for kyphoplasty for VHA, UHC and Provista members.

“I am very happy that I switched to Stryker Vertebral Compression Fracture products. The new iVAS product is simpler for both the OR staff and me than the previous company’s system.  Stryker also gives me the option of having what I believe is the industry standard.  I have also found the new, quicker setting cement to be a significant upgrade from the other company’s cement,” said Eric Nabors, chief, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh, USA. “In the current era in which the cost of health care is so important, the decreased cost of the Stryker iVAS system is very important to my hospital.”

David Veino, vice president of sales for Stryker’s Interventional Spine division comments, “We are very excited to offer our new iVAS solution to VHA, UHC and Provista members through a contract offering not previously provided by other suppliers in this market.  We are highly confident in our ability to offer superior clinical and financial value through this contract enhancement.”
