With an educational event entitled “Innovations in Neuromodulation”, the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) will attempt to bring together industry leaders, innovators and investors to discuss commercialisation from a global perspective at its 15th world congress next month (21–26 May 2022; Barcelona, Spain).
As per an INS press release, this educational event—taking place on 22 May—will highlight presenters’ perspectives on innovation advantages and challenges in their respective locales.
The day will feature presentations by emerging companies, including BIOS Health, Neuromod Devices, Spark Biomedical, MicroTransponder, NXTSTIM, Synergia Medical, Neuroelectrics, RebrAIn and Thermaquil.
INS president Marc Russo (Hunter Pain Specialists, Newcastle, Australia) and president-elect Konstantin Slavin (University of Illinois Chicago, Chicago, USA) will lead a session entitled “Neuromodulation without Borders”, while electroCore chief medical officer Peter Staats will front the topic of “Neuromodulation from the Ground Up: Bootstrapping a Pandemic”.
Other subjects to be examined include the challenges and pitfalls of conducting clinical trials in Latin America and Asia, how best to shorten the commercialisation pathway, and the benefits of establishing a ‘MedTech precinct’.
The event is set to precede scientific sessions at the 15th INS world congress—which centre around “Neuromodulation: From Scientific Theory to Revolutionary Therapy” and will take place from 23–26 May.
