The European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT) and the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) have today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement, as the two societies look to formalise their collaboration.
The purpose of the MoU—according to a recent press release—is to strengthen their joint commitment to education, training, examination and certification in interventional neuroradiology (INR) across Europe.
The MoU establishes a framework for joint initiatives to promote the common interests of both societies, ensuring efficient communication and cooperation in representing the discipline of INR at both European and national levels, the release adds.
The MoU was signed by Anne-Christine Januel (Toulouse University Hospital, Toulouse, France) and Tarek Yousry (University College London, London, UK)—presidents of ESMINT and ESNR, respectively—alongside ESMINT general secretary Christian Taschner (University Hospital Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany), ESMINT past president Zsolt Kulcsár (University Hospital of Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland), ESNR vice president Andrea Rossi (University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy), and ESNR treasurer Cem Calli (Ege University, Bornova, Türkiye).
“This historic agreement is a significant step forward in establishing unified standards for neurointerventional practices across Europe,” said Januel. “By collaborating closely, ESMINT and ESNR will enhance the quality of care for patients and ensure that practitioners throughout the continent adhere to the highest standards.”
“This partnership represents a vital step toward ensuring that all neurointerventional professionals have the resources and support needed to achieve the highest levels of excellence,” Yousry added.
